BACKSTORY
Born in Los Angeles, James Haunt’s career began on the street walls, alley ways and rooftops of Southern California. Growing up, the danger of graffiti culture along with his illustrious adventures lead him through chapters of societal qualms; landing him in juvenile hall and run ins with the police for what he explained as beautifying the city. James navigated his way out of adversity and into the public’s eye when city officials, corporate companies and even the Los Angeles Police Department began to see the bold beauty in his work, all requesting custom mural work.
Today, his popular murals can be found in many high-profile locations throughout the world. His work stems from a natural ability, a strong motivation to thrive and self-taught techniques. He embodies the collective elements of a free-spirited artist possessing strong characteristics to develop his own unique design, style and large-scale mural work. With an innate bold style infused with fearless hues, James Haunt continues to coin an original style beyond the traditional graffiti and street art aesthetic.
James has done murals and collaborations with brands such as Nike, Porsche, Red Bull, Sony Pictures, Go Pro, MTV, XGames, Coachella, ESPN, Google, Vice, Petersen Automotive Museum, The Hotel Wilshire, Harper’s BAZAAR, Sephora, Taylormade, Clif Bar, Beats By Dre, Budweiser, Life WTR and the list goes on.
