We would like to encourage everybody to take a couple minutes out of their day and help us push The Bay Skatepark (Lincoln, Nebraska) to victory in a $25,000 giveaway from State Farm Insurance. The Bay is a non-profit skatepark and youth outreach program that helps young people stay off the streets and encourages them positively through the sport of skateboarding, dedicated youth counselors and programming.

We would like to send a huge shout out to our friend Mike Smith and his team for all of the hard work in founding Skate for Change, The Bay Skatepark, and being an inspiration for all of us to create change everyday. …The information for voting is below, thanks for the support!

What is the mission of your cause?

To fully establish and implement a new youth outreach center/indoor skatepark in Lincoln, NE.

How would you use the $25,000 to address an unmet need in your community?

If rewarded, we would primarily use the $25,000 grant to help finish the construction of our complex. We’re due to finish the first stage of our construction very soon, but we still have a long ways to go to make all of our blueprints come to fruition! These funds would not only be used for construction materials, but also to continue paying our small team of full-time workers that have been literally spending their days and nights at THE BAY making our dreams come true. Some of these funds would also go to purchasing supplies and using skateboarding as a vessel for homeless outreach. THE BAY would serve as a headquarters for all of our endeavors within this realm.
